Marco Berni arrives in Shaktoolik with a new pair of boots
Marco Berni and Beat Jegerlehner reached Shaktoolik on March 18th at 11 AM (9 PM in Italy). The school where they should have rest is under renovation, so they have been hosted by the principal.
Todd Kasteler, an athlete who lives in Anchorage and ended his race in McGrath, sent Marco a new pair of boots: finally he can continue the race with proper shoes.
Marco and Beat are thinkg whether to have a long stop in Shaktoolik and run next 80 km through the frozen sea towards Koyuk without rest, or to have another little stop tomorrow in a run-down refuge.
Anyway weather is positive, so the two athletes should take advantage of this to reach Koyuk.
